Gary Wood and Dorothy Cloud-Wood (Feb., 1989) describe a race to Catalina, in which Gigolo (#97) found herself in a gale -- and made 16.4 kts with a double-reefed main. Tammy White (Aug., 1989) describes a Tortugas visit in which the puzzled sailors witnessed a very rare Florida appearance of the Aurora Borealis, which was initially taken to be evidence of some type of mainland nuclear mishap.
