FROLI® Star and FROLI® Travel Sleep Systems – for truly comfortable sleep aboard. The lightweight spring elements are extremely durable, yet highly flexible and the large number of springs contour perfectly to the shape of the body. FROLI systems provide superior sleeping comfort through point-by-point support and can easily be adjusted to the individual’s preference from very firm to soft. The springs allow for air circulation and the problem of under-bunk moisture is virtually eliminated. Because of its modular nature, the system can accommodate a variety of bed shapes, including v-berths. The low-profile installation raises the cushion/mattress by approximately 1 1/2".
FROLI elements are manufactured of DuPont's Hytrel®, a high-quality thermoelastic polymer. The FROLI Sleep System is the user assembled spring base that is simply installed under the existing cushion or mattress. Because of its modular nature, the system can accommodate a variety of bed shapes, including v-berths. The installation raises the cushion/mattress by approximately 1 1/2". Air can circulate and the problem of under-bunk moisture is virtually eliminated. The innovative spring elements provide superior sleeping comfort through point-by-point support.

The FROLI system consists of thermoplastic base elements, which are connected to form a grid. Once this is assembled, the thermoelastic spring elements are placed on top of the bases with a simple 90-degree twist.
Regular and soft spring elements are supplied with each kit. Soft elements are suggested for use in one’s shoulder area, while regular elements cover the remaining surface. Furthermore, the lumbar zone may be stiffened as required by adding special tension clips to individual springs. This customization allows for comfortable, orthopedically correct support of the neck and spine.
In addition, adjusting the spacing distance of the elements customizes the overall support according to one’s personal preference and body weight. A wide spacing provides for a softer feel while the narrow setting increases the firmness. The system is portable and, if needed, can readily be disassembled and reconfigured or installed in a different bunk.
Nickle Atlantic currently offers two models of the FROLI product range, Froli “Star” and Froli “Travel”. The average cost to outfit a v-berth is about $250. The price range to equip a twin-size to queen-size bed is $170-$340. The FROLI spring elements, for example, are subjected to alternating loads of up to 1300 Newton involving 30,000 individual lift cycles. After successful testing, the LGA issued FROLI the appropriate test accreditations and certificates.
