Because my wife did not want to name the boat GROWLER
after our lovable dog. The name had to be a play on a nautical term,
boom, which we all have become familar with, particularly on smaller
boats. Also, the name had to be something easily heard and remembered
over the VHF in an emergency, which eliminated any French names. |

We're a late 50's couple who enjoy weekend overnights
& as many longer (3-5 day) trips as possible on the Chesapeake
Bay, mostly mid- and Northern Bay. We would like to organize &
participate in a trip south, say Norfolk, either mid May or late June,
duration around 8 days. We're very happy with our plain vanilla C34,
only upgrades beyond AM/FM radio have been cockpit cushions (great
for sleeping out) & stern pulpit seats (super visibility around
the 150). |
