FAQ: Water In Fuel?

How is water getting into my fuel? I've checked for possible entry points everywhere and can't figure it out.

A common cause is a cracked fuel filler cap. I replaced my entire fuel filler assembly with a stainless steel replacement.   I was unable to find a separate metal cap that would screw into the factory brass fitting( with the plastic cap).    The factory plastic caps (fuel, water, and waste) will crack probably due to over tightening, so easy does it (Ron Hill).
